Maynard - Stow Baseball Charitable Organization

The Maynard Baseball Charitable Corporation (MBCC) was founded for the purpose of providing the youth of Maynard and Stow, through organized competition, an opportunity to participate in the great game of Baseball.  This non-profit charitable program serves youth between the ages of 13 and 19 within the Maynard and Stow communities.  Leagues making up the MBCC include the Minuteman Babe Ruth League, Lou Tompkins All Star Baseball League and Minuteman Babe Ruth Fall Baseball League.   These organizations offer the youth of Maynard and Stow a challenging and competitive program with lessons in teamwork and competition that can be taken with them well beyond the years spent on the baseball diamond.

The goal of these leagues is to provide member cities / towns with a structure and environment which will promote and foster fast paced quality baseball competition.  These are competitive baseball leagues serving local youth in many of the surrounding cities and towns.

To support the aforementioned youth programs the MBCC is embarking on a fundraising campaign.  All tax-deductible donations, regardless of size, are greatly appreciated and a great way to help support the community we are all proud to call our home.

All donations will be recognized publicly.  We are asking that all contributions be sent to the following address:

MBCC
P.O. Box 461
Maynard, MA 01754
Thank you in advance for your support.

MBCC HAPPENINGS AND EVENTS

  1. The MBCC Board of Director’s will be co-sponsoring a Valentine’s fundraising dance with Remembering Maynard’s Own on February 14th at the Maynard Elks featuring Coming Alive. The dance will be held from 7:00 p.m. – Midnight. There will be a cash bar and raffles for baskets and prizes will be held throughout the evening. Admission is $10.00 per ticket and tables of 8 may be reserved. Last years dance was a huge success so mark your calendar and plan on attending this event if you are looking for great music and a fun time. To purchase tickets, please call Mike Chambers @ 978-897-6363 or e-mail your request to info@maynardstowbaseball.com.

  2. The MBCC is in the process of expanding our web site. The web site will contain information for the spring, summer, fall and Lou Tompkins All Star teams. Information contained on the site will include registration applications, schedules, leagues, news, teams, pictures and links to the Minuteman and Lou Tompkins web sites. Information for our February dance and upcoming events are now posted. Please check out our site at www.maynardstowbaseball.com.

  3. Registration applications have been sent out for the 2009 spring season to all new and returning players of the Minuteman Babe Ruth Baseball League.  The leagues success has resulted in an increase in the number of new players from last spring and that trend is expected to continue into the ’09 spring season.  The growth of the league might require us to expand the number of teams that we have entered into the league. This expansion will necessitate the league to look at potentially re-drafting our existing teams so that all are of equal competitive strength.

  4. This year our spring program has at least 2 openings for managers of teams. There will also be openings for coaches. Please call Mike Chambers 897-6363 if you are interested in volunteering for these positions.

  5. The MBCC is always looking for volunteers for the concession stand and field work. The concession stand is vital to our organizations fundraising and it keeps the cost of programs down. It also allows us to purchase the best equipment for your player and continued improvements to the field. The goal of MBCC is to have Crowe Park one of the best fields in the area. Last year the dugouts were built over the winter and they were enjoyed by the players. The new addition also enhanced our playing field. This past fall a sprinkler system was installed at Crowe Park and was funded by the Maynard CPC. Our goal this spring is to get Crowe Park in great playing shape for the spring and summer seasons.

  6. Last years spring and summer programs were a success for our programs. The spring program had 2 teams from our organization play in the championship games for their divisions. The summer Lou Tompkins programs were also a success. The senior division team (16 -19) played in a trophy weekend and just missed playing in the tournament of champions. The newly formed A division team (15 – 16) played in both trophy weekends and played in the tournament of champions round and had their hopes for a championship stopped because of several days of rain. The B division team (13 – 14) also made the trophy weekends and went to the tournament of champions but came up short.  This team improved greatly from the year before. The MBCC will apply for the C division (13 year old) this summer if there is strong interest from this age level and the numbers support a team.
